Dial and Hands
The watch features a beautiful vertically brushed silver dial that plays dynamically with the light, providing a textured backdrop for the stark black elements. It is appointed with applied black baton indices and matching black baton hands, ensuring excellent legibility and a striking monochromatic contrast. The typography consists of crisp, black printed serif text reading OMEGA AUTOMATIC at the top and DE VILLE at the bottom. A framed date aperture sits neatly at the three o'clock position. Upon close inspection, the dial presents an attractive vintage aesthetic but does show minor, localized age-related spotting and tiny specks scattered across the surface, most notably near the center arbor, the nine o'clock position, and slightly above the lower text. These honest signs of age do not detract from the overall striking appearance of the dial. The hands remain in excellent shape with intact black finishing.
Case and Crystal
The 32 mm stainless steel cushion case is a quintessential example of 1970s design, featuring a slightly tonneau or television-shaped profile with hooded lugs that perfectly integrate the bracelet. The case exhibits sharp, well-defined factory vertical brushing on the upper bezel and top surfaces, which transitions sharply into highly polished case flanks. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that protects the dial and adds a warm vintage profile. An original Omega-signed fluted crown sits flush against the case side. The case remains in excellent vintage condition, showing only light, superficial handling marks consistent with careful wear, while retaining its crisp geometry. The brushed snap-on caseback is clean and well-preserved, with the interior correctly stamped with the reference ST 162045.
Movement
Powering this De Ville is the Omega Caliber 1002 automatic movement, beautifully finished in Omega's signature copper-toned plating. The movement is visually exceptionally clean and features clear engravings, including OMEGA WATCH CO SWISS, the caliber designation 1002, and the serial number 32089541, which accurately dates the watch to 1970. The intricate brushing on the rotor and plates remains bright and pristine. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. +10 to +12 s/day with strong amplitude. Recently serviced
Strap
The watch is fitted with its spectacular original Omega stainless steel brick-link bracelet, which flows seamlessly from the hooded lugs. This highly articulated mesh-style bracelet is secured by a sturdy folding clasp featuring an applied gold-tone Omega logo on the exterior. The interior of the clasp is correctly stamped OMEGA STAINLESS STEEL along with the reference code 2060. The bracelet shows minimal stretch and light surface wear, retaining a highly flexible and comfortable drape on the wrist.
Condition
This Omega De Ville is presented in excellent vintage condition. The stainless steel case retains strong factory finishes, with a crisp contrast between the brushed and polished surfaces. The dial shows honest, minor spotting consistent with its age, adding authentic vintage character while remaining highly legible. The original bracelet is remarkably well-preserved, and the movement is exceptionally clean, running with outstanding precision.

Originally introduced as part of the Seamaster collection in the 1960s, the De Ville became its own independent line in 1967. Omega created the De Ville collection to offer a more refined, dress-oriented alternative to their professional sports models. The line quickly became known for its elegance, varied case shapes, and sophisticated urban appeal, capturing the spirit of modern mid-century design while maintaining the robust timekeeping standards for which Omega was globally renowned.
