Dial and Hands
The well-preserved and highly attractive silver dial features a distinct vertically brushed finish. It is detailed with an applied Omega logo and applied baton indices featuring black inserts. The dial surface remains clean with no significant spotting, staining, or damage visible. The original stick hands, which carry matching black inserts, show age-related wear, including visible oxidation and dirt accumulation around the center pinion and across their surfaces.
Case and Crystal
The classic stainless steel C-shape case retains its original geometry, featuring brushed top surfaces contrasted by polished flanks. It presents honest wear consistent with its age, displaying moderate scratches and small dings visible on the case edges and lugs. A smooth polished bezel is integrated into the design, showing surface scratches and minor nicks consistent with the rest of the case. The watch is fitted with a signed Omega crown with well-defined fluting. The domed acrylic crystal remains free of major cracks or chips, though light surface scratches are visible at certain angles.
Movement
Powering this watch is the copper-colored Omega automatic Caliber 1012. The movement presents a generally clean appearance, with some minor marks and light wear visible on the rotor and plates, alongside crisp Omega and Swiss engravings. The timegrapher records a rate of -1-5s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a period-correct steel link bracelet. This period-appropriate accessory shows normal wear, with moderate surface scratches visible across the links. It accommodates a maximum wrist size of up to 18cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch presents an exceptionally clean dial against a case that shows honest, moderate scratches and small dings from regular use. The hands exhibit visible oxidation and dirt accumulation, while the period-correct bracelet displays standard surface wear. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The stainless steel case measures 36 mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks
This Omega Genève offers a beautiful vertically brushed dial paired with the robust Caliber 1012 movement. Its classic 1970s C-shape profile provides excellent presence on the wrist, making it a highly appealing choice for collectors seeking a reliable vintage daily wearer.
History
The Omega Genève line was introduced in the mid-20th century, initially serving to designate higher-end watches produced at the brand's Geneva workshops. By the 1970s, the Genève collection had evolved into Omega's most versatile and widely accessible line, offering robust mechanical movements in classic, straightforward designs. The C-shape case, famously associated with Omega's design language of the late 1960s and 1970s, provided a modern, integrated aesthetic that remains highly appreciated by collectors today. The Caliber 1012 is a recognized workhorse movement of the era, reflecting Omega's commitment to reliable automatic timekeeping.
