    About This Watch

Presented for auction by Second Vintage A sharp and distinctive 1970s square-cased Genève, this Omega stands out with its striking deep blue sunburst dial. Preserving its crisp chamfers and sharp geometry, this timepiece offers a distinct vintage aesthetic powered by the highly regarded Caliber 565 automatic movement. Brand: Omega Model: Genève Reference Number: 162.0010 Serial Number: 33097436 Movement: Automatic Omega Caliber 565, 24 Jewels Dial: Deep blue sunburst with applied silver-tone indices and framed date window Case Size: 32 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1971 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: +15+18s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The deep blue sunburst dial is in excellent condition, offering a striking and clean visual presence. It features applied silver-tone indices with white inserts, complemented by an applied Omega logo and a neatly framed date window at three o'clock. The white printed text remains crisp against the dark blue surface. Matching the dial indices perfectly, the silver-tone baton hands and sweep center seconds hand display a clean finish with no visible oxidation. Case and Crystal The stainless steel square cushion case features a brushed front contrasted by polished chamfers, retaining its sharp and well-preserved 1970s geometry. Light surface scratches consistent with careful wear are present, but the edges remain well-defined and crisp. The inner caseback is stamped ACIER INOXYDABLE. The case integrates smoothly without a separate bezel and is fitted with a clear, flat acrylic crystal showing no significant scratches or crazing. An Omega-signed crown with well-defined knurling completes the exterior. Movement Inside beats the copper-colored Omega Caliber 565, an automatic movement equipped with a swan-neck regulator. The movement appears clean with no visible corrosion or significant tool marks, and it bears the correct engravings including OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS, TWENTY-FOUR 24 JEWELS, and the serial number. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a rate of +15+18s/day. Strap The watch is fitted with a new or lightly used brown leather strap featuring an alligator grain pattern and white contrast stitching. It is secured by an unsigned steel buckle. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The case geometry remains crisp, showing only light and careful wear, while the striking blue dial and hands are exceptionally clean and well-preserved. Supported by the strong timegrapher results, the movement is in excellent operational order. Dimensions The case measures 32 mm excluding the crown. Remarks This Genève offers a compelling combination of a sharp square case and a beautiful blue sunburst dial. Powered by a clean and highly capable Caliber 565, it is a distinctive and highly wearable 1970s Omega in excellent preservation. History The Genève line was introduced by Omega in the mid-20th century to designate high-quality dress watches manufactured to exacting standards. By the 1970s, the collection embraced the bold design language of the era, introducing cushion and square cases that departed from traditional round profiles. The Caliber 565 inside is widely respected among collectors for its robust construction, precise swan-neck regulation, and reliable automatic winding, representing a high point in Omega's mid-century mechanical production.
