Dial and Hands
The well preserved silver dial is characterized by a striking vertical brushed finish. It features applied indices with black inserts and crisp printing throughout, with very minor dust or spotting visible under magnification. The dial layout includes apertures to display both the numerical day of the month and the day of the week in English. The stick hands also feature black inserts and retain their luminous material, which has aged. There is visible oxidation and dirt on the hand surfaces, particularly noticeable on the minute hand.
Case and Crystal
The 36mm stainless steel case displays honest wear, featuring brushed top surfaces that transition into polished flanks, with edges that remain relatively well-defined. The smooth polished bezel is integrated seamlessly with the case design. Light scratches and handling marks consistent with normal wear are present across the case and the bezel. The watch is fitted with a signed Omega crown featuring a knurled edge. The domed acrylic crystal shows light surface scratches visible at certain angles.
Movement
Inside beats the automatic Omega caliber 1022, a 23-jewel movement operating at a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour. This caliber includes a hacking seconds feature and allows for quick adjustment of both the day and date displays. The movement exhibits the copper-colored finish typical of Omega and presents a clean appearance with no obvious signs of corrosion or damage, complete with its automatic rotor. The timegrapher records a rate of -9-11s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is paired with a casual black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching, showing good condition with normal wear.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch presents an honest aesthetic with light scratches and handling marks across the stainless steel case, bezel, and acrylic crystal. The dial remains beautifully preserved with crisp printing and only very minor dust or spotting visible under magnification, while the hands show visible oxidation, dirt, and aged luminous material. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The stainless steel case measures 36mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks
This Genève provides an attractive and functional daily wearer. The combination of the vertically brushed silver dial and the highly capable caliber 1022 makes this a practical and handsome addition to any collection.
