    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage A classic and elegant vintage Omega De Ville, this reference 165.033 features a beautifully preserved silver sunburst dial and classic mid-century dress watch proportions. Driven by the reliable Omega Caliber 552 automatic movement, it presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire an honest, highly capable vintage dress watch. Brand: Omega Model: De Ville Reference Number: 165.033 Serial Number: 26955546 Movement: Automatic, Caliber 552 Dial: Silver sunburst with applied indices Case Size: 34mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold Plated Production Year: 1968 Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: +5+7s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The exceptionally clean and attractive silver sunburst dial is beautifully preserved. Its applied indices with black inserts remain clean and intact, complementing the crisp, fully legible printing. Very minor, isolated micro-spotting is visible only under high magnification. The original stick hands feature black inserts that match the indices, showing age-appropriate visible oxidation and patina on the gold-tone metal surfaces, with no structural damage. Case and Crystal The 34mm gold-plated case displays honest vintage wear with intact plating. It shows normal signs of use, including light scratches on the case flanks, the thin integrated bezel, and the caseback exterior. The interior of the caseback is clearly marked for its 20-micron plating thickness. The signed Omega crown shows some wear and slight plating loss on its knurled edges. A clear, domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, free of major scratches, cracks, or crazing, providing a distortion-free view. Movement Inside beats the reliable Omega Caliber 552 automatic movement. The copper-colored plating is bright and intact, with no visible corrosion, rust, or significant scratches on the plates or rotor, and the screw heads appear clean. The movement is engraved with the manufacturer signature, the serial number, and the caliber designation. +5+7s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a fresh black leather strap featuring contrast stitching. It appears to be in near-new condition with minimal wear. Condition Good vintage condition. The beautifully preserved silver sunburst dial and crisp acrylic crystal present exceptionally well. The gold-plated case, bezel, and signed crown exhibit honest wear, light scratches, and slight plating loss consistent with age. Supported by the recorded timegrapher data, the automatic movement is performing with remarkable accuracy. Dimensions The case measures 34mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This Omega De Ville offers classic mid-century elegance with its attractive sunburst dial and reliable Caliber 552 movement. The honest preservation of the case and the exceptionally clean dial make it a highly appealing dress watch for any enthusiast. History The Omega De Ville line originally began as a collection within the Seamaster family before becoming a standalone line in 1967. Known for its refined aesthetics and classic dress watch proportions, the De Ville offered a sophisticated alternative to Omega's robust sports models. Powered by the highly regarded Caliber 552 automatic movement from Omega's golden era of mechanical watchmaking, this reference 165.033 represents the classic mid-century approach to formal design. / Second Vintage SKU: OME-ADV-0020
