Dial and Hands
The matte black dial remains in well-preserved condition, serving as a striking backdrop for the painted luminous indices which have aged to an attractive, even creamy patina. Under magnification, minor oxidation and aging are visible on the metal hand frames, retaining an authentic original appearance with age-appropriate character.
Case and Crystal
The brushed stainless steel case features polished accents and retains reasonably defined edges. Flanks and lugs display moderate scratches and handling marks, presenting honest wear consistent with age and use. A black bezel insert surrounds the dial, showing moderate surface scratches and light edge wear, while its luminous pip at the twelve o'clock position matches the dial patina beautifully. A signed Omega crown shows light surface wear. The flat crystal remains clear with no significant scratches or chips visible.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is a clean 6-jewel Swiss quartz movement, engraved with the caliber number 255461, which corresponds to the Omega Caliber 1438. History
Introduced in the late 1980s as a heavy-duty tool watch, the Seamaster Professional 200m line represents a distinct era in Omega design. It is widely known among collectors as the "Pre-Bond" because it immediately preceded the famous Seamaster 300m worn by Pierce Brosnan on screen. Powered by a reliable Swiss quartz movement, the reference 396.1062 reflects a transitional period in sports watch aesthetics, combining integrated bracelet construction with a highly capable utilitarian design.
