Timegrapher: -1-3s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The remarkably pristine silver sunburst dial serves as the focal point of this timepiece, remaining exceptionally clean with no visible spotting, staining, or damage. Crisp black printing complements the applied baton indices, which feature black inserts for enhanced legibility alongside a neatly framed date window at three o'clock. The original stick hands also carry black inserts and display matching dark aging and patina on their luminous tips, accompanied by light surface oxidation visible only under magnification. Case and Crystal The stainless steel cushion case retains its well-preserved original geometry, showcasing a brushed front face transitioning into polished flanks. Honest wear is present, with light to moderate scratches and handling marks consistent with age. The exterior caseback bears the factory TOOL 9034 engraving, while the case is fitted with a signed Omega crown featuring a knurled edge and light wear to the logo relief. A clear flat acrylic crystal protects the dial, showing no major scratches, crazing, or cracks. Movement Inside beats the Omega Caliber 1002 automatic movement, distinguished by the brand's signature copper-colored finish. The caliber presents a clean appearance with no obvious corrosion or staining, while the rotor and bridges clearly display their original factory brushing. The movement bears the correct Omega Watch Co engravings alongside the caliber and serial numbers. The current timegrapher reading shows a rate of -1-3s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel beads of rice bracelet, complete with 620 endlinks and a signed Omega clasp. This original bracelet displays honest wear, with moderate scratches on the clasp and links, and accommodates a maximum wrist fit of up to 18cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The watch presents an exceptionally clean dial housed within an honest case showing moderate age-related wear. The hands display appropriate luminous aging and minor oxidation, while the original bracelet carries expected scratches from regular use. Supported by the highly impressive timegrapher results, the mechanical performance remains exceedingly strong. Dimensions The case size is 33mm, and this measurement strictly excludes the crown. Remarks This De Ville represents a strong example of 1970s Omega design. The combination of its pristine sunburst dial, original beads of rice bracelet, and excellent mechanical performance makes it an attractive proposition for collectors seeking a reliable and stylish vintage dress watch. History The De Ville line emerged as a standalone collection in 1967, having previously been a sub-collection of the Seamaster family. Omega created the De Ville to offer a more refined, dress-oriented aesthetic that still benefited from the brand's robust mechanical engineering. During the 1970s, the collection embraced distinctive case shapes, such as the cushion profile seen here, reflecting the era's evolving design language while maintaining traditional elegance. The Caliber 1002 is part of Omega's respected 1000-series movements, designed to offer high-beat precision in a relatively slim profile.
