Now available at auction from Second Vintage This classic ladies Seamaster quartz model from the late 1970s features an attractive textured champagne dial set within a gold-plated cushion case. Retaining its original signed two-tone bracelet, it is a highly wearable example of Omega's design language from the era. Brand: Omega Model: Seamaster Reference Number: 596 0075 / 796 0875 Serial Number: 43026799 Movement: Quartz, Caliber 1380 Dial: Textured champagne dial with applied indices and date window Case Size: 22mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold-plated, stainless steel caseback Production Year: circa 1979 Condition: Good vintage condition. Dial and Hands The watch presents an attractive textured champagne dial, complemented by applied baton indices that feature Roman numerals at the quarters for a refined touch. A framed date window is positioned at three o'clock. Under magnification, minor surface debris is visible on the dial finish. The original dark stick hands show light aging, with minor oxidation and surface wear visible under close inspection. Case and Crystal The gold-plated cushion case exhibits honest wear consistent with its age, maintaining its distinctive late-seventies geometry. There are visible scratches and handling marks throughout the surfaces, and plating wear is evident on the lug edges as well as the perimeter of the stainless steel caseback. The bezel is integrated directly into the case design. The gold-tone knurled crown is signed with the Omega logo. The flat crystal shows minor edge wear and light surface scratches. Movement Powering the watch is the Omega Caliber 1380 quartz movement. The movement maintains a clean visual appearance and is currently fitted with a battery. The caliber is engraved with the Omega signature, 'SWISS', '7 SEVEN JEWELS', 'UNADJUSTED', the caliber number 1380, and the matching serial number 43026799. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed two-tone multi-link bracelet, secured by a signed Omega clasp. The endlinks are marked '801'. The bracelet shows moderate wear, with visible scratches, stretch, and plating wear present on the gold-tone center links. It accommodates a maximum wrist size of 17.5cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The case shows handling marks and notable plating wear on the lug edges and caseback perimeter. The textured dial remains attractive, though minor surface debris is present under magnification, alongside light oxidation on the original hands. The crystal exhibits light surface scratches. The original two-tone bracelet displays moderate stretch and plating wear on the center links. Dimensions The case measures 22mm in diameter, excluding the crown. Remarks This Seamaster offers an appealing combination of late-seventies aesthetic details and a reliable quartz caliber. The textured dial and original signed bracelet make it an excellent daily wearer for vintage enthusiasts. History The Omega Seamaster line has long been a pillar of the brand's catalog, evolving through numerous design eras since its introduction in 1948. By the late 1970s, the watchmaking industry was undergoing significant changes, and Omega responded by offering precise quartz calibers housed in classic case profiles. Ladies' models from this period often featured elegant cushion cases and multi-link bracelet designs, reflecting the aesthetic trends of the era while maintaining the robust build quality associated with the Seamaster name. The Caliber 1380 is a standard production quartz movement that provided reliable timekeeping for Omega's elegant models during this transitional period.
