Brand: Omega Model: Genève Reference Number: 566.002 Serial Number: 35331814 Movement: Automatic, Caliber 684 Dial: Silver sunburst with applied baton indices Case Size: 21mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: circa 1972 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: +15+17s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The silver sunburst dial is well-preserved, highly legible, and in very clean condition. It features applied baton indices with black inserts and crisp, intact printed text. The lume dots at the indices have darkened and degraded over the years. The matching stick hands also feature black inserts and display minor surface oxidation visible under magnification, with their luminous material appearing degraded or missing, aging appropriately for the era. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case features a polished finish and retains well-defined lug geometry. It displays honest wear consistent with age, including moderate surface scratches and scuffs. The smooth integrated bezel shows surface scratches consistent with the rest of the case. The watch retains its signed Omega crown, which shows light wear along its knurled edge. The domed acrylic crystal is clear with no major deep scratches or cracks, exhibiting only minor superficial wear. Movement Inside is the Omega Caliber 684 automatic movement, engraved with the serial number 35331814. The copper-colored plating remains bright and clean, showing no obvious signs of corrosion or moisture damage, while the rotor displays minor surface marks. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a rate of +15+17s/day. Strap The watch is fitted with a period correct stainless steel beads-of-rice style bracelet, delivering classic vintage styling. The endlinks are stamped 27811. The bracelet shows moderate wear and expected stretch, accommodating a maximum wrist size of 19cm. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The silver dial is exceptionally clean, while the hands and luminous material show expected aging and degradation. The stainless steel case and bezel display moderate surface scratches and scuffs, retaining strong lug geometry and a clear acrylic crystal. The period correct bracelet exhibits moderate wear and stretch. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions The case measures 21mm in diameter, excluding the crown. Remarks This Genève offers a highly attractive silver sunburst dial and the reliability of an in-house automatic caliber. Paired with a comfortable beads-of-rice style bracelet, it represents a highly wearable and classic mid-century design. History The Omega Genève collection first appeared in the 1950s as a premium line of dress watches, named in honor of the brand's precision testing at the Geneva Observatory. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Genève line had evolved into a broad and highly successful range of reliable, elegantly designed timepieces. Powered by robust in-house movements like the Caliber 684, these watches provided excellent automatic winding efficiency in a compact format, making them highly regarded choices for ladies' watches of the period.
