It features applied indices with black inserts, complemented by an applied Omega logo and the signature Constellation star. The crisp printed text reads Omega Automatic Chronometer Officially Certified Constellation Swiss Made. The dial presents very minor faint spotting visible under close magnification, consistent with age. Matching stick hands with black inserts remain in clean condition, showing minimal oxidation.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel C-shape case displays honest wear with well-preserved geometry, characterized by brushed top surfaces and polished flanks. The case shows moderate surface scratches and signs of wear consistent with age. An integrated smooth bezel exhibits light surface wear matching the case. The caseback features a crisp Constellation observatory medallion. The watch is fitted with a knurled crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo. A clear domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, with no significant scratches or cracks visible.

Inside is the chronometer-grade Omega Caliber 564 automatic movement, featuring a distinctive copper-colored finish. The visible rotor and bridges show good finishing, and the caliber maintains a clean appearance with no obvious corrosion. The movement bears crisp engravings reading Omega Watch Co Swiss, Twenty-Four 24 Jewels, Adjusted Five (5) Positions and Temperature, alongside the caliber and serial numbers. The timegrapher records a rate of +8+10s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.

The stainless steel case retains its distinctive geometry, displaying moderate surface scratches and signs of wear consistent with age across its brushed and polished surfaces. The silver linen dial is beautifully preserved, exhibiting only very minor faint spotting visible under close magnification. The hands remain clean with minimal signs of oxidation. The acrylic crystal is clear and free of significant marks. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The case measures 35 mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks

The presence of the chronometer-certified Caliber 564 movement and the Omega signed buckle make this a highly sought-after configuration for any serious enthusiast of mid-century Swiss watchmaking.
History
The reference 168.017 SP features the famous C-line case design created by Gérald Genta, a silhouette that became a defining characteristic of Omega's late 1960s and early 1970s catalog. The Constellation family was historically positioned as Omega's flagship line for precision timekeeping, often distinguished by the observatory medallion on the caseback. This particular model is powered by the chronometer-grade Omega Caliber 564 automatic movement, which utilizes 24 jewels and reflects the brand's commitment to mechanical refinement during this celebrated era of production.
