Dial and Hands
The exceptionally clean and attractive silver sunburst dial is very well preserved, offering a bright and crisp visual presence. The applied indices and Seiko logo stand out beautifully against the brushed surface, while the printed text and Daini Seikosha logo remain fully intact. Under macro magnification, only minor dust or microscopic spotting can be observed. The original dauphine hands feature black central stripes and show noticeable age-related oxidation and spotting on their silver-tone surfaces, providing an honest record of the watch's age.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case remains in honest vintage condition with typical wear for its age. The case geometry is generally defined, though the edges show signs of use, accompanied by scattered scratches and minor dings on the flanks and lugs. The smooth integrated bezel displays scattered scratches consistent with the rest of the case. A distinctive hexagonal crown, which is unsigned, shows minor wear but adds a striking architectural element to the profile. The domed acrylic crystal exhibits some light surface scratches and scuffs, most notably near the two o'clock position. On the reverse, the caseback retains clear and fully legible factory engravings.
Movement
Inside the watch is the high-jewel-count automatic caliber 5106A, featuring 33 jewels and a practical day-date complication. The movement appears visually clean with a bright finish across the rotor and bridges, showing no obvious signs of heavy corrosion or damage. Clear engravings for Seiko, 33 Jewels, 5106A, and Japan are present on the movement components. The timegrapher result is -43-48s/day. Running in operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the watch.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a fresh black leather strap featuring a faux alligator pattern and white contrast stitching. The strap appears unworn or very lightly used and secures comfortably to the wrist.
Condition
Good vintage condition. This Seikomatic-P presents an exceptionally attractive dial with crisp applied elements, contrasted by noticeable oxidation on the original dauphine hands. The stainless steel case displays normal honest wear, including scattered scratches and minor dings on the flanks and lugs, while maintaining a generally defined geometry. The domed acrylic crystal shows some light scuffs, and the unsigned hexagonal crown exhibits minor wear. The clean movement is running in operational condition.
Dimensions
The case measures 38 mm (excluding the crown).
