Dial and Hands
The striking green dial features a vertical gradient and a fine textured finish, presenting a vibrant and exceptionally clean character. Applied gold-tone indices and the Seiko and LM logos are clean and bright, adding strong visual depth beneath the crystal. All printed text is crisp with no visible loss. There is no visible moisture damage, spotting, or discoloration on the dial surface. The gold-tone baton hands feature black central stripes and remain clean and well-preserved, with no visible oxidation or corrosion, visually consistent with the dial furniture.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case is well-preserved with crisp original lines, displaying sharp case geometry and well-defined transitions between the brushed top surfaces and polished flanks. The polished sides show light superficial scratches consistent with careful wear, while the smooth polished bezel ring exhibits similar light hairline scratches. There are no major dents or deep dings visible on the case. The knurled crown features an unsigned face. A distinctive vertically faceted crystal protects the dial and remains clear, with no major scratches, chips, or cracks visible.
Movement
Powering the watch is the Seiko 5606A automatic caliber. The movement plates and rotor appear generally clean, with visible engravings reading "SEIKO", "23 JEWELS", and "JAPAN 5606 A". There is no obvious severe corrosion on the movement components, though some dirt and grime accumulation is visible on the case edge where the caseback seats, located outside the movement itself. Recording +11+15s/day on the timegrapher. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 9 October 2026.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel link bracelet, presenting a great matching character. The clasp is prominently signed "SEIKO LM", and the endlinks are correctly stamped "XAB680". The clasp and links show light desk-diving marks, but the bracelet remains overall very well preserved. It accommodates a maximum wrist fit of 17.5cm.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 9 October 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The case and bezel display light superficial scratches and hairline marks from careful use, but retain sharp geometry with no major dents. The bracelet shows expected light desk-diving marks. The dial and hands are exceptionally clean, free of moisture damage or oxidation. While the movement plates are clean, there is some visible grime on the inner case edge where the caseback seats. The faceted crystal is clear and well-preserved.
Dimensions
The case size is 35 mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Lord Matic stands out through its exceptional vibrant green textured dial and original faceted crystal. The presence of its original signed matching bracelet and sharp, unpolished-appearing case lines make this a remarkably well-preserved and complete configuration.
History
The Seiko Lord Matic series was introduced in the late 1960s as a premium watch positioned just below the Grand Seiko and King Seiko tiers. These models offered highly refined case designs, high-quality automatic calibers, and sophisticated dial variations, making them a significant part of Seiko's golden era of mechanical watchmaking.
