Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst finish appears very clean and well-preserved, creating an exceptionally legible and attractive dial. Crisp applied indices feature black central stripes, providing excellent contrast against the bright silver background. The matching dauphine-style hands also carry black central stripes and present clean surfaces with no obvious oxidation or corrosion. Printed text and logos remain sharp and entirely intact. There is no significant spotting, staining, or moisture damage visible on the dial surface. A practical dual-language English and Japanese day-date aperture completes the balanced layout.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features brushed and polished surfaces, presenting honest vintage wear with preserved overall geometry. The case shows moderate surface scratches and scuffs consistent with normal wear over the decades. While the edges remain reasonably defined, some softening from previous polishing may be present. A smooth polished bezel is integrated cleanly into the case design, exhibiting light surface scratches consistent with the rest of the watch. The case is fitted with an unsigned knurled crown that appears functional and appropriately sized. The flat crystal is clear, providing an unobstructed view of the dial with no major scratches, chips, or crazing visible.
Movement
Inside beats the automatic caliber 5606A, featuring 25 jewels. The plates and bridges appear generally clean, while showing some visible tarnishing and wear around the rotor bearing and central area. The timegrapher recorded a rate of +15+17s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black textured leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. The strap appears to be in new or very lightly used condition, offering an attractive modern complement to the vintage dial.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The dial and hands are exceptionally clean and well-preserved, standing out as the strongest visual elements of the watch. The case displays honest vintage wear, including moderate surface scratches and some softening of the edges from prior polishing. The movement is running strongly, supported by the recorded timegrapher data.

The crisp applied indices and dual-language day wheel make it a highly attractive and functional vintage piece. It remains a superb choice for collectors seeking a reliable and visually striking 1970s Seiko.
History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Lord Matic line was positioned just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko ranges, offering high-quality automatic movements and sophisticated case designs to a broader audience. The 5606 caliber became a fixture of Seiko's mid-tier production during the 1970s, celebrated for its slim profile and practical day-date complication. This 1975 example highlights the enduring appeal of Seiko's classic design language, representing an era when the brand solidified its global reputation for reliable, well-finished mechanical watches.
