Dial and Hands
The dial features a striking green gradient sunburst finish that shifts beautifully in the light. Applied faceted indices and the classic Seiko, LM, and Suwa logos add depth to the layout, while a dual English and Kanji day-date window sits at three o'clock. The central dial area remains generally clean, with only minor spotting and dust particles visible under macro inspection. The baton hands originally featured white painted center stripes; however, there is significant chipping and loss of this white paint on both the hour and minute hands, along with some oxidation on the metal surfaces.
Case and Crystal
The 36 mm stainless steel case displays brushed and polished surfaces, integrating smoothly into the bezel area. The metal shows honest vintage wear, with moderate scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use, though the overall case edges remain reasonably defined. The unsigned crown exhibits moderate wear to its knurling. Above the dial, the distinctive faceted crystal adds significant character, though it currently shows a noticeable chip or internal fracture near the four o'clock edge, alongside surface scratches and edge wear.
Movement
Inside is a 25-jewel automatic movement. The timegrapher records a rate of 27s+30s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black textured leather strap featuring white contrast stitching, presenting in lightly used condition.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The case displays honest wear with moderate scratches, while the dial remains highly attractive despite minor spotting under close inspection. The hands show noticeable paint degradation and oxidation. The distinctive faceted crystal presents scratches and a noticeable chip near the four o'clock edge.

History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line occupied an important position in the brand's catalog, sitting just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko ranges. Produced by the Suwa Seikosha factory, the 5600 series of automatic movements became highly regarded for their reliability and smooth operation. During the 1970s, Seiko experimented heavily with bold dial colors and faceted crystals, creating visually dynamic watches that defined the era's design language. Today, these models remain appreciated by enthusiasts for their distinctive style and historical significance within Japanese watchmaking.
