Dial and Hands
The dial features a vibrant vertical gradient that transitions beautifully from bright emerald green in the center to a deep dark green at the outer edges. This exceptionally well-preserved colored dial is accented by applied gold-tone Seiko and LM logos, alongside faceted baton indices. The surface appears clean, showing no visible moisture damage, spotting, or print loss. Complementing the dial are clean, gold-tone baton hands featuring a central black stripe. These original hands present no visible oxidation or corrosion, remaining visually consistent with the applied indices.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case displays brushed upper surfaces transitioning to polished flanks, maintaining honest vintage wear with preserved original finishing transitions. The case geometry remains generally well-defined, though moderate scratches and scuffs are visible on the polished sides, lug edges, and the integrated polished smooth bezel area. At the 3 o'clock position sits an unsigned, partially recessed crown that shows light wear but remains functional in appearance. The watch is fitted with a distinctive multi-faceted cut glass mineral crystal. While there are some light scratches and minor edge flea bites visible on the facet junctions, the clarity remains good, allowing the vibrant dial to be viewed clearly.
Movement
Inside beats the Seiko caliber 5606A automatic movement, featuring 23 jewels and a desirable English and Japanese day wheel. Visual inspection reveals some surface tarnishing and spotting on the rotor, while the plates and bridges appear generally clean with no severe corrosion visible. The movement proudly displays its SEIKO, 23 JEWELS, and JAPAN 5606A engravings. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The recorded timegrapher result is +10+12s/day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel multi-link bracelet, completing the vintage aesthetic. The clasp is clearly signed with both the Seiko name and the LM logo, and the endlinks are stamped XLA 160. The bracelet shows normal wear and moderate surface scratches consistent with its age, accommodating a maximum wrist size of 17.5cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial and hands are exceptionally well-preserved, standing out as the highlight of this timepiece. The stainless steel case and original bracelet show honest, moderate scratches and scuffs expected from regular use, while the faceted crystal displays minor edge wear and light scratches. The movement performance is excellent, supported by the recorded timegrapher result of +10+12s/day.

History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line was positioned just below the prestigious King Seiko and Grand Seiko collections, offering sophisticated mechanical movements and high-quality finishing to a broader audience. The caliber 5606 became a highly regarded movement in Seiko’s automatic production during this era, celebrated for its reliability and smooth sweeping seconds. By the 1970s, the Lord Matic range expanded to include vibrant colored dials and faceted crystals, reflecting the dynamic and experimental design language of the decade. Today, these expressive models are highly appreciated by collectors for their unique character and enduring mechanical quality.
