Remarks This Lord Matic Special is a highly appealing collector favourite, offering a superb dial and the charm of a Kanji day wheel. Powered by a historically significant movement, it remains a fantastic representation of 1970s Japanese watchmaking. History Introduced in the early 1970s, the Lord Matic Special line represented a significant step up in Seiko's catalog, bridging the gap between standard automatics and the prestigious King Seiko and Grand Seiko lines. The 52-series movements housed within these models are highly regarded by collectors for their sophisticated engineering and superior build quality. These calibers proved so successful and reliable that their architecture was later revived by Seiko in the 1990s as the foundation for the esteemed 4S family of mechanical movements. Today, a well-preserved Lord Matic Special remains a highly sought-after prize for enthusiasts of vintage Japanese horology. / Second Vintage SKU: SEI-ALJ-0014
