Dial and Hands
The dial of this Seamaster is a captivating study in vintage aging, presenting a classic silver sunburst finish that has developed a magnificent, uniform "stardust" micro-patina across its entire surface. This fine, even spotting is a natural characteristic of the era's dial lacquers and adds immense collector appeal without compromising the crispness of the underlying sunburst texture or the printed text. The dial features applied, faceted baton hour markers detailed with black inserts, perfectly complemented by the matching dauphine-style hands. The applied Omega logo sits proudly below twelve o'clock, above the sharply printed serif and sans-serif "OMEGA AUTOMATIC" text, while the signature "Seamaster" script graces the lower half. A framed date aperture at three o'clock features a stepped metallic border, adding depth to the display. The dial is free from heavy moisture stains or localized damage, presenting an exceptionally honest and beautiful vintage aesthetic.
Case and Crystal
The 35mm stainless steel case is excellently preserved, retaining a sharp and well-defined profile. The lugs exhibit their factory chamfers and a pleasing transition between the brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks, showing only honest, light handling marks consistent with careful vintage wear. The polished bezel smoothly frames the dial, while a domed acrylic crystal protects the display, remaining clear and free from significant scratches. The watch is fitted with its original Omega-signed fluted crown. Turning the watch over reveals a solid screw-down caseback adorned with the iconic Hippocampus medallion. The Seahorse engraving remains wonderfully crisp and deeply embossed, indicating that the case has not been subjected to heavy polishing over its lifetime. The interior of the caseback correctly displays the Omega factory markings and the 166.002 reference number.
Movement
At the heart of this timepiece beats the renowned Omega Caliber 565 automatic movement, a 24-jewel mechanism celebrated for its durability and precision. The movement is visually stunning, finished in Omega's signature copper-toned plating, which remains bright and exceptionally clean. Close inspection reveals the caliber designation and the serial number 25233235 clearly engraved on the bridges, alongside the swan-neck regulator. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher results indicate a highly impressive +4 to +5 seconds per day with strong amplitude, confirming the movement is in superb operational health. Movement has been serviced and performs very strongly.
Strap
The watch is presented on its original vintage Omega stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet, a highly desirable accessory that elevates the entire aesthetic. The mesh is in excellent condition, supple and free from severe kinks or structural damage. The outer clasp is proudly stamped with the raised Omega logo, while the inner folding mechanism is correctly engraved with the Omega branding, Swiss Made designation, and the reference code 1120/116. The bracelet will comfortably accommodate a wrist size of up to 18 cm.

History
Introduced in 1948 to commemorate Omega's 100th anniversary, the Seamaster collection was heavily influenced by the waterproof watches the brand supplied to the British military during World War II. Designed to offer robust protection against the elements while maintaining a civilian elegance, the Seamaster quickly became Omega's most popular line. By the 1960s, the collection had matured to include sophisticated date complications and some of the most reliable automatic movements produced in Switzerland, cementing the Seamaster's legacy as the quintessential gentlemen's sports watch.
