    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage A quintessential vintage Omega dress watch with unique dial character. This 1970 Genève presents a classic configuration, distinguished by a heavy stardust patina across the dial that gives it a striking, individualized presence. Powered by the reliable manual wind Caliber 601, this piece offers honest vintage charm alongside superb mechanical performance. Brand: Omega Model: Genève Reference Number: 135.011 SP Serial Number: 30428652 Movement: Manual wind, Omega Caliber 601, 17 jewels Dial: Silver and white with heavy stardust patina and applied black indices Case Size: 34mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1970 Condition: Good vintage condition. Movement serviced on 14 July 2026. Timegrapher: +10+12s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The silver and white dial exhibits heavy, uniform spotting and patina across the entire surface, creating a distinctive stardust character. Despite this heavy aging, the applied black indices and Omega logo remain fully intact, and the printed text remains clear and easily legible. The matching black stick hands are well-preserved, showing only light surface wear and minor oxidation visible under magnification, complementing the dial furniture perfectly. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case retains its preserved geometry, featuring a thin polished bezel and brushed and polished lugs. The surfaces show honest vintage wear, with moderate scratches and handling marks consistent with its age. The exterior caseback features a factory engraving, while the inner caseback is correctly stamped with Omega branding and the reference number. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, remaining clear with some light surface scratches visible at certain angles. The watch is fitted with an Omega-signed crown that shows moderate wear to the knurling. Movement Inside beats the copper-colored Omega Caliber 601 manual wind movement, prominently engraved with 17 jewels and adjusted to two positions. The caliber appears very clean, with no obvious signs of corrosion or heavy wear, and the screw heads show minimal marking. +10+12s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 14 July 2026. Strap The watch is paired with a fresh brown leather strap featuring contrasting white stitching. It remains in near-new condition with minimal signs of wear, providing a comfortable and attractive complement to the steel case. Condition Good vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 14 July 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The case shows moderate scratches and handling marks, while the crown exhibits wear to its knurling. The dial displays heavy, uniform patina and spotting, offset by well-preserved indices and hands that show only light oxidation. The acrylic crystal bears minor surface scratches. Dimensions The case measures 34mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This Genève offers a compelling combination of robust Omega engineering and entirely unique visual character. The heavy, uniform patina transforms a traditional dress watch into a highly individualized collector piece, backed by a freshly serviced and excellently performing movement. History The Omega Genève line was introduced as a tribute to the brand's exacting standards and the watchmaking heritage of Geneva. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Genève collection accounted for a significant portion of Omega's output, offering elegant, reliable, and versatile timepieces for daily wear. The Caliber 601 is highly regarded by collectors as a robust and beautifully finished manual wind movement from Omega's golden era of mechanical watchmaking.
