The well-preserved silver dial displays an attractive vertical brushed texture and a clean overall appearance with minimal signs of aging. Applied indices feature black inserts, complementing the dial layout, while the tritium lume plots at the base of the markers appear intact. The original stick hands also carry black inserts and show noticeable age-related patina, including visible oxidation and pitting on their metal surfaces, alongside aged luminous material.

The brushed top surfaces remain visible, contrasting with the polished flanks which show moderate surface scratches and handling marks. The caseback engravings are clear and legible, displaying the 166 051 reference. An Omega-signed crown features defined knurling with light wear. Covering the dial is the original domed acrylic crystal, confirmed by the etched Omega logo in the center, which shows light surface scratches under direct illumination.

History
The Omega De Ville line originally began as part of the Seamaster collection before becoming a standalone family in 1967. Positioned as a refined dress watch alternative to Omega's dedicated sports models, the De Ville emphasized elegance, varied case shapes, and sophisticated dial textures. During the 1970s, tonneau cases became a defining design language for the era, reflecting a shift toward bolder geometric forms. This particular reference 166 051 demonstrates that period style beautifully, offering a classic mechanical dress watch configuration that remains highly wearable today.
