Dial and Hands
The dial of this De Ville is a striking two-tone, four-sector design, often referred to as a checkerboard layout, executed in alternating silver and grey tones with a refined vertical brushed finish. The typography is crisply printed in black, featuring the Omega logo and "AUTOMATIC" at the top, "DE VILLE" below, and "SWISS MADE" at the bottom edge. The dial exhibits visible signs of age, most notably edge wear and flaking along the left perimeter, alongside minor surface spotting and light marks consistent with its vintage nature. The time is indicated by a pair of simple, elegant black stick hands that remain in good condition, complementing the minimalist aesthetic perfectly.
Case and Crystal
The rectangular stainless steel case measures 25mm across and features a pleasing contrast between the polished upper bezel and flanks, and the vertically brushed flat caseback. The case shows honest signs of wear, including hairline scratches and minor handling marks throughout the polished surfaces, with slightly softened edges typical of a worn vintage piece. The original Omega-signed crown is present and well-defined. The inner caseback is properly stamped with the reference number 151.0041. The watch is fitted with a flat-form acrylic crystal, showing minor surface wear upon close inspection.
Movement
Inside the case beats the Omega Caliber 661, a compact automatic movement featuring 24 jewels and finished in Omega's classic copper tone. Close inspection of the movement reveals the caliber stamp "661" and the serial number 35634401, which dates production to approximately 1973. The movement is marked as adjusted to two positions. Notably, there is visible oxidation and verdigris on the movement spacer and the underlying dial plate edges. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. The timegrapher result shows a deviation of -43 to -46 seconds per day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a handsome brown textured leather strap featuring contrasting white edge stitching. The strap is in excellent condition, providing a comfortable fit and a rugged yet refined complement to the steel case and geometric dial.
Condition
This Omega De Ville is presented in good vintage condition. The stainless steel case retains its fundamental geometry while displaying expected surface scratches and wear. The two-tone sector dial offers a highly attractive design but does show explicit edge wear, flaking, and spotting. The movement operates and winds, displaying some cosmetic oxidation on internal non-moving components.

Remarks
This Omega De Ville Tank stands out with its unusual and highly attractive sector dial. Despite the visible aging on the dial edges, the overall visual impact of the checkerboard layout remains strong, making it a compelling piece of early 1970s horological design.
