Dial and Hands
The well-preserved silver sunburst dial features applied baton indices detailed with sharp black inserts, complemented by a framed date window positioned at three o'clock. The dial surface remains exceptionally clean, showing minimal signs of aging or spotting. Matching baton-style hands with black inserts complete the cohesive design, displaying minor oxidation and dust visible only under macro inspection.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a smooth integrated bezel, brushed lug tops, and polished flanks. It exhibits honest wear, with light scratches and minor dings consistent with normal use over the decades. The domed acrylic crystal shows visible scratches and scuffs on the surface, which are particularly noticeable at certain angles. A knurled crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo, sits on the right flank.
Movement
Inside beats the Omega Caliber 565, a 24-jewel automatic movement operating at a frequency of 19,800 A/h and featuring a quickset date function. The movement displays the copper-colored plating characteristic of vintage Omega and maintains a clean appearance with no obvious corrosion. The rotor remains intact and is correctly marked, alongside clear engravings including the caliber and serial number. Recording +5s+8s/day on the timegrapher, it is exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, featuring a stainless steel mesh construction. The clasp is prominently signed with an applied Omega logo. This mesh bracelet shows minor wear and slight deformation in the pattern, retaining its comfortable drape and accommodating a maximum wrist fit of 20 cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch presents an exceptionally clean dial alongside a case that bears honest wear, including minor dings and light scratches. The acrylic crystal exhibits visible surface scuffs, and the original mesh bracelet shows slight deformation consistent with its age. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result of +5s+8s/day, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The case measures 34 mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks
This Genève offers a beautifully preserved dial and the enduring charm of its original signed mesh bracelet. Driven by the highly regarded Caliber 565, it represents a versatile and handsome 1960s configuration ready to be enjoyed.
