    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage This classic 1970s Constellation features an integrated stainless steel mesh bracelet and a highly distinctive C-shape case. With its beautifully preserved silver sunburst dial and chronometer-certified performance, it represents a compelling example of early 1970s Omega design. Brand: Omega Model: Constellation Reference Number: ST 168 0056 Serial Number: 33858135 Movement: Omega Caliber 1011 automatic Dial: Silver sunburst with applied baton indices Case Size: 35 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: Circa 1971 Condition: Good vintage condition. Movement serviced. Timegrapher: +3+5s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The silver sunburst dial is exceptionally clean and well-preserved, featuring an excellent finish and crisp, intact typography. Applied baton indices with black inserts provide strong visual contrast. The original stick hands, also detailed with black inserts, feature luminous tips that have aged to a dark patina, showing minor oxidation on the metal surfaces appropriate for the era. Minor dust particles are visible under macro inspection. Case and Crystal The stainless steel C-shape case features a brushed top and polished sides, retaining its original geometry while showing honest wear consistent with age. Moderate scratches and minor dings are present, particularly on the integrated polished bezel and the lugs. The caseback observatory medallion is well-preserved, with all eight stars remaining clearly visible. The Omega-signed crown shows normal wear to the knurling and logo. A flat crystal covers the dial, displaying minor surface scratches visible under certain lighting angles. Movement Inside beats the Omega Caliber 1011 automatic movement. The copper-colored plating is generally intact, with the rotor showing some surface scratches and wear marks. Engravings confirm twenty-three jewels and adjustment to five positions and temperature, with no obvious signs of heavy corrosion. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a rate of +3+5s/day. The movement was serviced. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, a stainless steel mesh Milanese design that perfectly complements the case. The mesh remains in good condition with no major kinks, while the Omega-signed fold-over clasp shows moderate desk-diving scratches from normal use. The period-correct bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of 20cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The movement was serviced and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The case displays honest wear, with moderate scratches and minor dings concentrated on the polished bezel and lugs, yet retains its architectural C-shape lines. The dial is exceptionally clean, showing only minor dust under magnification, while the hands exhibit dark patina and minor oxidation. The original mesh bracelet shows typical desk-diving marks on the clasp. Dimensions The case measures 35 mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This classic 1970s Constellation with an integrated mesh bracelet offers tremendous character. The strong mechanical performance and crisp silver sunburst dial make this a highly enjoyable vintage Omega for daily wear or dedicated collecting. History The Omega Constellation line has long been celebrated for precision chronometer movements and distinctive aesthetic signatures. The C-shape case, introduced in the 1960s, represented a significant evolution in the collection's design language, moving toward a more integrated, robust architecture. The Caliber 1011 automatic movement reflects Omega's continued commitment to high-frequency, chronometer-certified performance during this era.
