History
Introduced in 1948, the Omega Seamaster line was originally designed as a robust, elegant timepiece for active individuals, drawing upon the brand's experience producing reliable watches for the British military during the Second World War. By the 1960s, the Seamaster had evolved to include refined dress models like the reference 166.009, combining handsome design language with capable automatic movements like the Caliber 565. This era of Omega production is highly regarded by collectors for its excellent build quality and enduring visual appeal.
