    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage A classic and highly sought-after Omega Constellation C-shape, this 1970 example showcases the celebrated case geometry penned by Gerald Genta. Featuring a pristine silver sunburst dial, a sharp fluted bezel, and its original brick-link bracelet, this chronometer-certified timepiece represents a high point in Omega's mid-century design language and remains wonderfully preserved. Brand: Omega Model: Constellation Reference Number: ST 168 029 Serial Number: 32618460 Movement: Automatic Caliber 751 Dial: Silver sunburst with applied indices Case Size: 34mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1970 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: +7+10s/dayy, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The clean and attractive silver sunburst dial is preserved in excellent condition, showing no significant spotting or discoloration. Crisp, legible typography, including the Officially Certified Chronometer designation, is complemented by the applied Omega logo, Constellation star, and faceted indices. The original baton hands feature black inserts and intact lume plots that have aged to a warm, even tone, displaying no significant oxidation or corrosion. Case and Crystal The well-preserved C-shape case retains strong original lines, featuring a brushed finish on top that transitions neatly to polished sides. The edges remain relatively sharp, exhibiting only light surface scratches consistent with careful wear. A sharp, well-defined fluted bezel frames the dial beautifully, while the signed Omega crown sits correctly positioned on the case side. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, showing some light surface scratches typical for the material. Movement Powering the watch is the chronometer-certified Omega Caliber 751 automatic movement. The copper-colored plating remains bright and clean, with the rotor and bridges exhibiting fine finishing and no obvious signs of corrosion or damage. The movement is correctly engraved with its 24 jewels and adjustment to five positions and temperature. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed Omega brick-link bracelet, adding significantly to the vintage appeal. The bracelet shows some stretch and wear consistent with its age, terminating in a clasp signed with the Omega logo. The endlinks are correctly marked 518, and the bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of 18cm. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The watch is remarkably well-preserved across all major components, from the clean sunburst dial and sharp fluted bezel to the well-defined C-shape case. The original brick-link bracelet displays expected age-related wear and stretch, while the case and acrylic crystal show only light surface scratches. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions The case measures 34mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Constellation presents a superb opportunity to acquire Gerald Genta's celebrated C-shape design in highly original condition. The combination of a pristine silver sunburst dial, a sharp fluted bezel, and its factory brick-link bracelet makes this a compelling choice for discerning Omega enthusiasts. History Introduced in the mid-1960s, the C-shape Constellation represented a significant aesthetic departure for Omega's flagship chronometer line. Designed by the renowned Gerald Genta, the integrated barrel-shaped case and refined dial layout offered a modern, cohesive look that resonated with the era's tastes. Powered by the robust Caliber 751 series, known for its reliable chronometer-grade performance, these models remain highly sought-after by collectors today for their distinctive geometry and enduring mechanical quality.
