Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is exceptionally well-preserved, showcasing a brilliant radiant finish that catches the light beautifully from every angle. Furniture includes prominently faceted applied baton indices with double markers at the twelve, six, and nine o'clock positions, alongside a sharply applied Seiko logo. The crisp black sans-serif printed typography for "BUSINESS-A" and "DIASHOCK 30 JEWELS" remains perfectly intact. A framed day-date aperture rests proudly at three o'clock, displaying a striking red font for Sunday. The polished dauphine hands are in excellent shape, showing only very faint, age-consistent aging. Crucially, the dial surface itself is remarkably clean, free from moisture marks, prominent spotting, print loss, or surface damage, making it a highly attractive specimen for the discerning collector.
Case and Crystal
The 35mm stainless steel case retains impressive definition, highlighting sharp lug profiles and distinct transitions across its architecture. The polished bezel frames the dial handsomely, while honest, light surface wear consistent with age is present but does not detract from the watch's strong wrist presence. The domed acrylic crystal provides a clear, distortion-free view of the dial beneath. Turning the watch over reveals a beautifully preserved solid caseback, clearly stamped with "ONE PIECE CASE," the reference 8346-8020, and the serial number 7D01808, confirming its production in December 1967.
Movement
Housed within the robust one-piece case is Seiko's automatic Caliber 8346, a sophisticated movement for its time featuring 30 jewels and the brand's proprietary Diashock anti-shock system. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. Timegrapher testing indicates a performance of +60 to +67 seconds per day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a handsome black textured leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. This strap perfectly complements the sharp, mid-century aesthetic of the dial and case, and it is secured with a classic stainless steel pin buckle.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The case remains well-defined with clear factory lines and normal, light handling marks from careful previous ownership. The dial is a true standout feature, remaining incredibly clean, vibrant, and free of the heavy degradation often seen in watches of this vintage.
Dimensions
The case measures 35 mm in diameter excluding the crown, offering a classic and highly wearable mid-century profile that sits elegantly on the wrist.

The Seiko Business-A represents a fascinating era of Japanese watchmaking, designed specifically to offer reliability and refined aesthetics for the professional class. This particular example stands out due to its remarkably clean dial, sharp case condition, and the undeniable charm of its perfectly balanced mid-century design language.
