History Introduced in 1968, the Seiko Lord Matic series was positioned just below the prestigious King Seiko and Grand Seiko lines, offering high-level finishing and advanced mechanical features to a broader market. Produced by Seiko's esteemed Suwa division, the 5606-7000 utilizes a one-piece case design, meaning the movement is accessed from the front of the watch. The caliber 5606 within became a highly regarded engine for the brand, bringing modern conveniences like hacking, hand-winding, and quickset day-date functions to the Lord Matic family.
