Dial and Hands
The dial features a matte black finish that is beautifully aged with strong vintage appeal. The painted luminous indices have aged to a uniform creamy yellow, contrasting perfectly against the dark background. All printed text remains crisp and intact, and a date window is positioned at 3 o'clock. The watch retains its original appearance with a distinctive Mercedes-style hour hand and a sword minute hand, both featuring luminous material that matches the dial patina. Under magnification, light oxidation is visible on the hand frames.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a brushed finish and a striking integrated design. Honest wear consistent with age and use is present, including moderate scratches and scuffs on the case flanks and lugs. The caseback exterior shows light surface wear, but the crisp Hippocampus engraving remains clearly defined. The scalloped bezel is fitted with a black dive insert and silver numerals; the luminous pip is present but darkened. The insert shows scratches and light wear, notably near the 20, 30, and 50 markers, and the steel grip edges display moderate wear. The screw-down crown is signed with the Omega logo and its knurled edges show light wear. The flat crystal is clear with no significant scratches or chips visible.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is the clean Omega caliber 1438 quartz movement, which is based on the ETA 255.261 architecture. The movement features a fresh battery with no visible corrosion or moisture damage. Clear engravings read "OMEGA", "1438", "SIX 6 JEWELS", and "SWISS V8". The movement was serviced on 26 October 2026.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, featuring an integrated stainless steel link design and a signed Omega single-fold clasp. Sturdy and period-correct, it displays normal wear with moderate scratches and desk-diving marks throughout. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist fit of 17.5cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 26 October 2026. The watch exhibits honest wear across its exterior, with moderate scratches and scuffs on the case flanks, lugs, and the integrated bracelet. The bezel insert shows specific scratches near the 20, 30, and 50 positions, alongside a darkened luminous pip and wear to the steel grip edges. The dial is excellently preserved with uniformly aged creamy indices, while the hands display light oxidation visible under magnification. The crystal remains clear and well preserved.
