Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is a standout feature of this timepiece, presenting in exceptionally clean condition with a brilliant, dynamic finish that catches the light beautifully. The dial furniture includes applied, faceted baton indices with striking black center inlays that match the original stick hands perfectly. An applied Omega logo sits proudly below twelve o'clock, complemented by crisp black printed serif typography for the brand name and a sans-serif script for the Genève designation. A framed date window at three o'clock features a stepped, applied border, adding architectural depth to the layout. The dial is free of significant moisture marks, spotting, or damage, standing as a remarkably well-preserved example from its era.
Case and Crystal
The 35mm stainless steel tonneau-shaped case showcases the transition from traditional round dress watches to the more robust, integrated designs of the late 1960s. The upper case retains its factory-style radial brushing, contrasting handsomely with the polished case flanks. Honest signs of vintage wear are visible, including handling marks, localized scratches along the polished sides, and some visible wear around the original scalloped Omega-signed crown. The screw-down caseback, proudly engraved with the word waterproof, shows typical tool marks and surface scratches consistent with its age. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that presents clearly, offering an unobstructed view of the pristine dial beneath.
Movement
Inside the case beats the Omega Caliber 613, a highly regarded manual-winding movement finished in the brand’s signature copper plating. Close inspection reveals crisp engravings, including the Omega Watch Co Swiss signature, seventeen jewels designation, and the caliber stamp 613. The movement serial number 28836845 is clearly stamped on the bridge, dating the watch accurately to 1969. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher results show +6 to +9 seconds per day with strong amplitude.
Strap
The watch is presented on a period-correct original Omega stainless steel multi-link bracelet, featuring a folding clasp prominently adorned with the embossed Omega logo. Endlink codes 041 are visible on the underside of the fitment. The bracelet shows moderate stretch and surface wear consistent with the case, comfortably accommodating a wrist size up to 18cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial is the undeniable highlight, remaining beautifully preserved with no major flaws or distracting blemishes. The case and bracelet exhibit honest, age-appropriate wear, including surface scratches, minor dings on the case flanks, and visible tool marks on the caseback, all indicative of a watch that has been enjoyed but respected over its lifetime.
