Dial and Hands
The dial presents an attractive original finish featuring a vertically brushed champagne surface. Applied indices with black inserts provide excellent contrast, complementing the practical English day and date apertures. The dial shows minor spotting near the center. The original stick hands also feature black inserts and display visible oxidation and aging on their metal surfaces, adding to the authentic character of the timepiece.
Case and Crystal
The gold-plated case with a stainless steel caseback displays honest wear consistent with its age. The smooth gold-plated bezel frames the dial beautifully. Plating wear is visible on the lug edges, and the case exhibits moderate surface scratches throughout. The watch retains its knurled crown, which is signed with the Omega logo. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial and shows light surface wear.
Movement
Inside the case beats the Omega Caliber 1022, an automatic mechanical movement equipped with a day-date complication. The movement displays Omega's signature copper-colored finishing and maintains a clean appearance with its rotor present. Engravings including the Omega name, logo, caliber number, and matching serial number are clearly visible. Reading +3+5s/day on the timegrapher. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring contrast stitching. The strap provides a casual character that pairs well with the warm tones of the gold-plated case.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The gold-plated case and smooth bezel show honest wear, including visible plating wear on the lug edges and moderate surface scratches. The original vertically brushed champagne dial is attractive but exhibits minor spotting near the center. The metal surfaces of the hands show visible oxidation and aging. The domed acrylic crystal has light surface wear. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing remarkably well.
Dimensions
The case measures 35mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Omega Genève offers a highly wearable 1970s design with the everyday utility of a day-date complication. The vertically brushed champagne dial and reliable Caliber 1022 automatic movement make it an excellent choice for a vintage enthusiast.
