Dial and Hands
The silver dial features an attractive vertical brushed finish that remains exceptionally clean and well-preserved, showing minimal signs of aging or spotting. Applied gold-tone baton indices with black inserts provide excellent contrast, accompanied by intact lume plots at their outer edges. The original gold-tone baton hands, also featuring black inserts and luminous material, show appropriate light aging and minor oxidation on their metal surfaces.
Case and Crystal
The classic C-shape case retains its original geometry, displaying brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks. The gold-plated finish shows honest wear consistent with age, including moderate scratches and scuffs throughout, alongside visible plating wear on the sharp edges, lug tips, and the ridges of the signed scalloped Omega crown. The smooth gold-tone bezel exhibits light scratches matching the case wear. Turning the watch over reveals a stainless steel caseback featuring a remarkably well-preserved solid gold observatory medallion. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, showing only light surface scratches visible under direct light.
Movement
Inside beats the chronometer-certified Omega Caliber 564 automatic movement. The copper-colored plates and bridges present cleanly, featuring a swan neck regulator and bearing the factory engravings noting adjustment to five positions and temperature across 24 jewels. The caliber shows no obvious signs of corrosion or damage. The timegrapher records a rate of +15+17s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, a gold-plated brick-link design (reference 1507 with 518 endlinks) that perfectly complements the case. The bracelet shows honest use, presenting moderate stretch and visible wear to the gold plating, particularly on the high contact areas and the signed Omega clasp. It accommodates a maximum wrist fit of up to 18cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The exceptionally clean dial stands out as a high point of preservation, while the original hands exhibit appropriate light aging. The case and original bracelet show honest moderate scratches, scuffs, and visible wear to the gold plating on sharp edges, lug tips, and the clasp, while retaining their authentic physical geometry. The solid gold caseback medallion remains beautifully intact. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The case measures 35 mm in diameter (excluding the crown).
