Dial and Hands The striking textured dial is in excellent condition, defined by a clean and well-preserved vertical brushed finish in a dark grey tone. Applied Roman numerals at 12, 6, and 9 o'clock sit alongside faceted baton indices, all remaining bright and intact. The printed text is crisp with no visible loss, and there is no significant spotting or moisture damage visible on the surface. The dial features a practical dual-language day and date aperture displaying English and Kanji. The well-preserved original silver-tone stick hands are clean and straight, retaining their white central stripes with no visible oxidation or corrosion. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case features a classic 1970s TV-screen shape, executed as a single-piece front design without a distinct bezel ring. It displays honest wear consistent with age. The brushed front surfaces show light scratches and normal wear, while the polished case flanks exhibit minor scuffs and small dings. The case edges remain reasonably defined for its age. The watch features an unsigned knurled crown that retains intact plating alongside normal wear. The flat crystal is generally clear, showing minor surface dust or micro-scratches visible under harsh lighting, with no deep cracks or chips observed. Movement This timepiece is powered by the Seiko automatic caliber 5606. The timegrapher records a rate of +6+8s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 7 October 2026. Strap The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. Showing minimal signs of wear, it presents a complementary aesthetic match for the dark grey dial. Condition Good vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 7 October 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The impressive dial and hands are excellently preserved, retaining crisp printing and bright applied markers. The stainless steel case shows honest age-related wear, including light scratches on the brushed front surfaces and minor scuffs on the polished flanks, while the edges maintain reasonable definition. The crystal remains generally clear, displaying only minor surface wear. Dimensions The case measures 31 mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Lord Matic offers a highly attractive vertically brushed dial paired with the charm of a dual-language Kanji and English day wheel. The distinct TV-screen case geometry and strong mechanical performance make it a superb example of 1970s Seiko design. History The Seiko Lord Matic line was introduced in 1968 as a premium collection positioned just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko lines. The series was designed to offer sophisticated automatic movements and refined styling for the discerning consumer. This particular model is powered by the caliber 5606, a highly regarded automatic movement produced by Seiko from 1968 to 1976. The distinctive case shapes and textured dials of this period remain celebrated among collectors of vintage Japanese horology.
