With its sharp case lines, sunburst dial, and gold-plated finish, it offers a refined dress watch aesthetic that remains timeless. Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition and serves as a crisp backdrop for the applied gold baton indices. Each hour marker features a black central insert which matches the hands, ensuring high legibility. The applied "SEIKO" and "LM" logos are sharp and bright. The handset retains its original gold tone with minimal aging. A framed day and date window is positioned at 3 o'clock, adding practical utility to the elegant face. The dial text is untouched and precise, featuring the Suwa Seikosha factory symbol just above the 6 o'clock marker.
Case and Crystal
The case features Seiko's signature "SGP" gold plating with a stainless steel back construction. The case lines remain defined, showcasing the angular lug design characteristic of the era. There is visible vintage wear and oxidation to the gold plating, particularly along the sharp edges of the lugs and the bezel, which provides the watch with a genuine vintage character. The crown is original and tucks neatly into the case side. The crystal is clear and presents well, allowing for an unobstructed view of the pristine dial.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is the high-grade Seiko Caliber 5606 automatic movement with 23 jewels. This movement is renowned for its reliability and features both hacking and hand-winding capabilities. The recently serviced movement is performing exceptionally well, with timegrapher results indicating an accuracy of +1 to +2 seconds per day with strong amplitude, which indicates a very healthy movement offering reliable vintage performance.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a high-quality black leather strap featuring contrasting gold stitching. The strap is in excellent condition and complements the gold tones of the case perfectly, making the watch ready to wear immediately.
Condition
This timepiece is in good vintage condition. While the case shows expected signs of age and wear to the gold plating consistent with a watch from the early 1970s, the dial and hands are preserved in stunning condition. The mechanical performance is outstanding for a vintage piece, making it a very practical choice for a collector.
Dimensions
The case measures 36 mm in diameter excluding the crown, a classic size that fits comfortably on a variety of wrist sizes and slides easily under a dress cuff.

The Lord Matic series was introduced in 1968 and quickly became a staple of the brand's lineup, offering superior finishing and advanced movements compared to the standard models. The 5606 movement inside this watch was a workhorse of the era, known for its slim profile and precision, helping to cement Seiko's reputation as a world-class manufacture during the 1970s.
