History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line was positioned as a premium offering, sitting just below the Grand Seiko and King Seiko collections. Powered by the sophisticated 5600 series of movements, the Lord Matic became known for its refined aesthetics, reliable performance, and slim profile. The 5606 caliber in particular was widely celebrated for introducing features like a quickset day and date mechanism, cementing the Lord Matic as a staple of Japanese watchmaking during the 1970s.
