Dial and Hands
The striking and well-preserved dial features a beautiful grey to brown gradient, or fumé finish. Applied faceted indices and the signature applied rotating Rado anchor logo provide excellent depth, while the red date numerals at three o'clock add a sharp, colorful contrast. The dial surface remains clean with no visible spotting or damage. The baton style hands feature a black central stripe and retain their aged luminous material. Under magnification, light oxidation is visible on the metal surfaces of the hands, aging appropriately for the era.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case exhibits a classic 1970s cushion shape, defined by a polished top and brushed flanks. The watch displays honest vintage wear, with noticeable surface scratches and scuffs throughout the case, though no major deep dents are visible. The crown is signed with the Rado anchor logo, retaining good definition of both the logo and the fluting. The domed acrylic crystal shows light surface scratches visible at certain angles, but is free of major cracks or chips.
Movement
Inside is a 25-jewel automatic movement, clearly stamped as an ETA base caliber 2824. The movement presents a clean overall appearance, with the rotor handsomely signed by Rado. Recording 26s+30s/day on the timegrapher. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet in a mesh and expansion style construction. The clasp is prominently signed with the Rado anchor logo. It exhibits normal wear and light scratches consistent with its age, remaining highly functional. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist fit of 20.5 cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch presents an honest and appealing aesthetic, highlighted by a remarkably clean and well-preserved gradient dial. The hands display light oxidation visible under magnification, while the domed acrylic crystal bears light surface scratches. The stainless steel cushion case shows noticeable surface scratches and scuffs throughout, consistent with regular use, but remains free of major deep dents. The original signed mesh bracelet shows normal, age-appropriate wear. Supported by the timegrapher results, the movement is running strong and steady.
Dimensions
The case measures 36 mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
