Dial and Hands
The dial presents a striking reverse-panda layout, featuring a matte black main surface that remains remarkably clean and well-preserved. The applied silver-tone Omega logo and crisp white typography, including the "Speedmaster AUTOMATIC" text, provide excellent contrast. The defining feature of this dial is the trio of silver, engine-turned subdials located at six, nine, and twelve o'clock. These registers have developed a heavy, distinct, and even stardust freckling across their concentric ridges, a naturally occurring patina that gives the watch a completely unique visual identity. The date aperture is neatly positioned at three o'clock with a stepped white frame. The baton hour markers and the inserts on the white primary hands have aged uniformly to a highly attractive, warm creamy pumpkin hue, complementing the vintage aesthetic perfectly. The subdial hands are finished in black for optimal legibility against the silver backgrounds.
Case and Crystal
The 39mm stainless steel case features Omega's signature twisted Lyre lugs, showcasing a sharp and well-defined profile. The transitions between the brushed case flanks and the polished upper facets remain distinct, indicating careful wear over the years. The fixed stainless steel bezel features an engraved tachymeter scale filled with black enamel, exhibiting honest, light surface scuffs and handling marks consistent with its vintage nature, though all numerals remain fully legible. The watch is fitted with an Omega-signed fluted crown and crisp, traditional pump pushers for the chronograph functions. The dial is protected by a flat crystal that appears clean and free of significant marks. The solid stainless steel caseback is beautifully preserved, featuring a deep and crisp Hippocampus medallion in the center, with the serial number clearly engraved on the outer polished edge.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is the Omega Caliber 1152, a robust and highly reliable automatic chronograph movement based on the Valjoux 7750 architecture. Visual inspection of the movement reveals exceptionally clean, rhodium-plated surfaces with crisp factory finishing. The winding rotor is clearly engraved with "OMEGA 1152" and the movement is marked with 25 jewels. The chronograph mechanism components appear bright and well-maintained. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Timegrapher results show +1 to +2 seconds per day with strong amplitude. Movement have been serviced on 5/27/2026 and performs strongly.
Strap
The watch is presented on its original stainless steel Omega bracelet. The links feature a classic brushed finish with polished central accents, showing moderate stretch and surface wear consistent with the age of the timepiece. The solid endlinks are clearly stamped with the reference code 813. The bracelet is secured by a robust folding clasp, which is deeply engraved with the Omega logo and the "Speedmaster" script. The bracelet is sized to accommodate a wrist up to 19 cm.
Condition
This timepiece is in excellent vintage condition, standing out due to its highly charismatic dial aging. The case retains strong geometry with normal, honest signs of wear and light superficial scratches. The black main dial is exceptionally clean, while the silver subdials exhibit a heavy, even spotted patina that collectors often seek for its unique visual appeal. The luminous material has aged to a beautiful, uniform creamy tone. The original bracelet is well-preserved and secure, making this a highly wearable and distinct vintage chronograph.
