Om denna klocka
Offered in this auction by Second Vintage
A classic and versatile vintage Omega Seamaster. This circa 1971 example is defined by its highly attractive champagne dial, featuring a refined vertical brushed finish that catches the light beautifully, all powered by the respected Omega Caliber 565.
Brand: Omega
Model: Seamaster
Reference Number: 166.067
Serial Number: 33541481
Movement: Automatic, Omega Caliber 565, 24 jewels
Dial: Champagne gold-tone with a vertical brushed finish and applied indices
Case Size: 35 mm (excluding the crown)
Case Material: Gold-tone
Production Year: Circa 1971
Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: -9-12s/day, performing remarkably well.
Dial and Hands
The well-preserved champagne gold-tone dial features an attractive vertical brushed texture and a clean surface with minimal signs of aging or spotting. It is detailed with an applied Omega logo and applied indices that utilize black inserts for excellent legibility. The gold-tone baton hands are original-appearing and in very good condition, perfectly matching the indices with their own black inserts, showing only minor dust or light oxidation visible under magnification.
Case and Crystal
The gold-tone case presents honest wear consistent with age. It exhibits visible scratches and handling marks throughout, with plating wear and minor pitting visible on the underside of the lugs and along the case edges, showing typical plating degradation on the reverse. The stainless steel caseback displays standard surface scratches. A gold-tone crown signed with the Omega logo is present, showing some wear to the knurling. The watch retains a domed acrylic crystal, which currently shows some light surface scratches and dust.
Movement
Inside beats the copper-colored Omega caliber 565 automatic movement, clearly engraved with "OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS" and "TWENTY-FOUR 24 JEWELS". The movement appears clean with no obvious signs of heavy corrosion or damage, while the rotor and bridges show typical light handling marks. On the timegrapher, it recorded a rate of -9-12s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is paired with a standard black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching, complementing the dial layout nicely.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The gold-tone case displays honest age-related wear, including scratches, handling marks, and visible plating degradation with minor pitting on the reverse edges and lug undersides. Conversely, the dial is remarkably well-preserved, maintaining a clean and attractive brushed surface. The hands are in very good condition with only minor oxidation under magnification, and the signed crown shows wear to its knurling. The movement is clean and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The case measures 35 mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Seamaster is an excellent choice for those who appreciate compelling dial textures. The vertical brushed champagne surface remains in wonderful shape, and the presence of the reliable Caliber 565 movement with its quickset date function makes it highly practical for regular wear.
