    Om denna klocka

Presented for auction by Second Vintage A classic ladies De Ville characterized by its striking faceted crystal, this 1970 Omega offers an elegant and distinctive presence on the wrist. The brilliantly clean silver sunburst dial and the in-house automatic movement combine to create a charming example of mid-century feminine watch design, complete with its signed hardware. Brand: Omega Model: Omega De Ville Automatic (18597) Reference Number: 551.038 Serial Number: 32367258 Movement: Automatic caliber 661, 24 jewels Dial: Silver sunburst with applied black baton indices Case Size: 18 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: 1970 Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: +48+52s/day, running in operational condition. It is elegantly appointed with applied black baton indices and an applied Omega logo, providing excellent contrast. The matching black baton hands remain in excellent condition, displaying a clean finish with no visible oxidation. Case and Crystal The petite 18 mm stainless steel case is designed with straight lugs and presents honest vintage wear, displaying light surface scratches consistent with age. A defining visual feature of this timepiece is its distinctive faceted crystal, which creatively covers the case edge in place of a traditional separate bezel. The crystal offers clear visibility of the dial beneath, showing only minor surface wear. A knurled crown, properly signed with the Omega logo, completes the right side of the case profile. Movement Powering this De Ville is the automatic Omega caliber 661, featuring 24 jewels and adjusted to two positions. The movement displays Omega's traditional copper-colored finish, with visually clean plates, clean bridges, and an intact rotor. Timegrapher results indicate +48+52s/day. Running in operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the watch. Strap The watch is fitted with a period-appropriate black leather strap that complements the silver dial. It is secured by a steel buckle properly signed with the Omega logo. Condition Good vintage condition. The dial and hands are wonderfully preserved, remaining clean and highly legible. The stainless steel case displays honest vintage wear with light surface scratches consistent with its age, while the faceted crystal shows minor surface wear. The copper-colored automatic movement remains visually clean. Dimensions The case measures 18 mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This De Ville is a delightful vintage timepiece, highlighted by its striking faceted crystal and exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial. The inclusion of the Omega-signed crown and buckle further enhances its appeal, offering an honest and attractive package for the collector of classic ladies' watches. History Introduced to the international collection in 1968, the reference 551.038 is cataloged as ST 551.0038 in Omega's archives. Designed around a petite 18 mm stainless steel case, the model exemplifies Omega's dedication to producing elegant, mechanically sophisticated ladies' timepieces during the late 1960s and 1970s.
