Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is exceptionally well preserved, presenting a clean surface with minimal signs of aging or spotting. Applied faceted indices and crisp printing define the layout, including the distinct "4H" text which denotes the four hands featured on the watch. The dauphine style hour and minute hands are paired with an arrow-tipped alarm indicator hand. These metal hand surfaces display visible oxidation and aging.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a smooth polished bezel and a classic dual-crown configuration positioned at 2 and 4 o'clock, each utilizing a coin edge grip. The polished finish exhibits honest vintage wear with moderate surface scratches and light wear, while the lug geometry remains relatively well defined. The domed acrylic crystal is clear, with no major scratches, cracks, or crazing visible.
Movement
Powering the watch is a 21-jewel manual wind alarm caliber, bearing "CITIZEN" and "21J." engravings. The plates and bridges appear relatively clean with minor surface wear. There is noticeable dirt and grime accumulation on the case rim outside the movement seating area. The timegrapher records +20+25s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.

The stainless steel case displays honest vintage wear and moderate scratches, retaining relatively well-defined lugs. The period correct bracelet shows expected stretch, and there is visible dirt on the inner case rim. Supported by the timegrapher results, the movement is running strong and steady.

38 mm (excluding the crown)
Remarks
This Citizen Alarm Date offers a highly legible and exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial. The sought-after mechanical alarm complication, housed within a classic dual-crown case, makes it a rewarding choice for enthusiasts of mid-century design.
History
During the 1960s, Citizen expanded its mechanical capabilities by modifying the base AS1475 movement. The brand added a date complication, increased the overall size, and raised the jewel count to 21. The signature alarm mechanism operates via a hammer on the movement striking a pin welded to the inside of the caseback. Early examples like this 1965 model feature the desirable Parawater caseback designation, a historic marking used by Citizen until roughly 1973.
