Dial and Hands
The dial features a clean, vertically brushed gold-tone finish that remains exceptionally clean, showing no visible spotting or moisture damage. Crisp black printing contrasts sharply against the brushed surface, complementing the applied indices and Omega logo, which are preserved in excellent condition. The black stick hands match the typography perfectly and feature a clean finish with no visible oxidation or damage, demonstrating excellent preservation.
Case and Crystal
The gold-plated case maintains generally well-defined geometry, exhibiting honest wear consistent with its age. Light surface scratches are present throughout, alongside visible gold plating wear on the lug edges and case flanks, particularly near the six o'clock position. The integrated smooth bezel shows light scratches and minor plating wear consistent with the rest of the case. The watch retains its gold-tone crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo, displaying light wear to the knurling. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, remaining clear with only minor surface wear and no deep scratches or cracks visible.
Movement
Inside the watch is the manual wind Omega caliber 620. The movement displays clean copper-colored plating with no visible corrosion or oxidation, while the screw heads and jewels appear in good condition. The caliber is clearly engraved with the Omega Watch Co Swiss signature, noting its adjustment to two positions and seventeen jewels, alongside the 620 caliber designation and serial number 28537681. Recording +15+16s/day on the timegrapher. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring contrast stitching that shows light wear.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial and hands are exceptionally clean and beautifully preserved, free from visible oxidation or moisture damage. The case displays honest wear, with light surface scratches and visible gold plating wear on the lug edges, case flanks, and integrated bezel, particularly near the six o'clock position. The acrylic crystal is clear with minor surface wear, and the movement is performing strongly as supported by the recorded timegrapher data.
Dimensions
The case measures 33 mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This De Ville stands out for its beautifully preserved vertically brushed gold-tone dial and crisp black typography. The classic minimalist dress watch proportions, combined with the ultra-thin manual wind caliber 620 and signed Omega crown, make it a compelling example of late-sixties design.
History
The De Ville became a standalone collection in 1967 after previously being part of the Seamaster line, establishing Omega's dedicated dress watch family. This 1969 example is powered by the Omega Caliber 620, a 17-jewel manual wind movement that beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It remains a classic vintage Omega dress watch that perfectly represents the standard production De Ville models from the late 1960s.
