The Omega De Ville represents the pinnacle of mid-century Swiss elegance, offering a refined aesthetic that transitions effortlessly from formal attire to everyday wear. Originally introduced as a sophisticated offshoot of the Seamaster line, the De Ville quickly established its own identity through ultra-slim profiles and minimalist dial layouts. This particular example stands out with its striking original mesh bracelet, elevating the watch from a simple dress piece to a true statement of vintage design.

Dial and Hands
The dial features a striking vertical brushed finish that plays beautifully with the light, providing a sophisticated backdrop for the minimalist layout. Applied black baton hour markers and an applied silver-toned Omega logo add depth to the face, complemented by crisp black typography for the Omega and De Ville signatures. The dial exhibits clear signs of vintage aging, most notably a cluster of localized spotting and staining along the right hemisphere between the one and three o'clock positions, alongside scattered micro-spotting across the surface. The slender black baton hands remain in excellent visual condition, completing the elegant, non-luminous dress watch configuration.
Case and Crystal
The 33mm stainless steel case boasts a remarkably slim profile, featuring a highly polished finish that extends from the smooth integrated bezel down through the straight lugs. The case lines remain sharp and well-defined, showing only light, honest handling marks consistent with careful vintage wear. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that presents clearly without distracting scratches. The original knurled crown, signed with the Omega emblem, sits neatly against the case flank. Turning the watch over reveals a solid stainless steel caseback, sharply engraved with the iconic De Ville logo and the "TOOL 104" designation.
Movement
Inside the case beats a classic Omega manual wind movement, showcasing the brand's signature copper-toned plating. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher indicates a deviation of +12 to +16 seconds per day.
Strap
The watch is secured to the wrist by its exceptional original Omega stainless steel mesh bracelet. This Milanese-style band drapes beautifully and features a robust folding clasp prominently stamped with a large Omega logo. The intricate mesh remains in excellent shape without major kinks or stretching, offering a highly comfortable and period-correct wearing experience.
Condition
This De Ville is presented in good vintage condition. While the dial shows noticeable spotting and surface aging typical of mid-century timepieces, the stainless steel case remains remarkably crisp and well-preserved. The original mesh bracelet is a standout feature, retaining excellent structural integrity and a secure, heavily branded clasp.
Dimensions
The case measures 33mm in diameter, excluding the signed crown. The accompanying original stainless steel mesh bracelet will accommodate a wrist circumference of up to 19cm.
Remarks
The combination of an ultra-slim profile and a factory mesh bracelet gives this De Ville a distinctively luxurious feel on the wrist. It is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a classic mid-century dress watch with strong mechanical performance and undeniable vintage character.
History
Omega launched the De Ville in the 1960s, initially as part of the Seamaster collection before it became a standalone family in 1967. The line was created to offer a more elegant, streamlined alternative to the robust sports models, focusing on sophisticated urban design and slim profiles. Over the decades, the De Ville has remained Omega's premier dress watch collection, celebrated for its timeless proportions and understated aesthetic.
