Dial and Hands
The champagne dial is exceptionally well-preserved, showcasing an attractive vertical brushed finish. Applied gold-tone indices feature black inlays that match the hands perfectly, while all printed text remains crisp and intact. A date window at three o'clock is framed in gold-tone. The lume plots at the base of the indices display consistent aging. The original gold-tone baton hands, featuring black inlays and luminous tips, show moderate age-related oxidation and minor spotting across their surfaces, with the luminous material matching the dial plots nicely.
Case and Crystal
The 36 mm case presents classic 1970s styling with integrated lugs and a stainless steel caseback featuring the Omega logo engraving. The gold-plated case shows honest wear consistent with age, including moderate wear, scratches, and some visible plating loss on the lug edges and case flanks. The brushed finish on top of the lugs remains visible but has softened over time. The integrated smooth gold-plated bezel displays scratches and minor wear consistent with the rest of the case. The signed gold-tone Omega crown shows some wear to the plating on its knurled edges. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that bears minor surface scratches visible under certain lighting angles.
Movement
Powering this watch is the copper-colored Omega caliber 1012 automatic movement, a 23-jewel mechanism operating at 28,800 beats per hour. The movement appears clean with no obvious signs of corrosion or damage, and the rotor and bridges retain their original traditional copper-toned finishing. Engravings for Omega, 23 jewels, the caliber number, and the serial number are clearly legible. The timegrapher records a rate of +1+3s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a complementary black leather strap featuring an alligator pattern and contrasting beige stitching. The strap appears to be in good, lightly used condition, offering a comfortable and classic pairing for the gold-tone case.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch displays honest wear consistent with its age. The gold-plated case and bezel exhibit moderate scratches and some plating degradation, particularly along the lug edges and flanks, while the brushed finish on the lugs has softened. The champagne dial remains in excellent condition with crisp printing and clean vertical brushing. The original hands show moderate oxidation and minor spotting. The acrylic crystal has minor surface scratches, and the signed crown shows wear to its plating. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The case measures 36 mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks
This Genève offers a classic 1970s aesthetic with its integrated lug geometry and striking vertically brushed champagne dial. The robust caliber 1012 movement and honest vintage character make it a highly wearable and appealing choice for daily enjoyment.
