Dial and Hands
The dial of this Lord Matic is a visual triumph, featuring a striking green sunburst finish that darkens toward the outer edges in a classic fumé style. It is adorned with a prominent gold-tone minute track and applied gold-tone faceted hour markers that catch the light beautifully. The dial furniture is completed by the applied Seiko and LM logos, alongside a cleanly framed day-date aperture at the three o'clock position displaying both English and Kanji. A careful inspection reveals the dial is in outstanding condition, remaining exceptionally clean and free of spots, moisture marks, or noticeable degradation. The matching gold-tone faceted hands feature central black striping for enhanced legibility and remain crisp and well-preserved.
Case and Crystal
The 36 mm stainless steel case features a classic tonneau silhouette with integrated-style lugs, offering a sleek and comfortable profile on the wrist. The case retains strong factory lines and sharp transitions between the vertically brushed upper surfaces and the highly polished case flanks. Honest signs of wear, including fine hairline scratches and light handling marks, are visible across the polished sides and the smooth bezel, consistent with careful vintage use. The flat crystal presents very cleanly, providing an entirely unobstructed view of the vibrant dial beneath without any distracting deep scratches or chips.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is the Seiko automatic caliber 5606A, a highly regarded 23-jewel movement that was a cornerstone of Seiko's premium lines during this era. Close inspection of the movement reveals a clean rotor and well-preserved bridges, with all factory engravings clearly legible. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. The timegrapher results reflect a performance of +45 to +51 seconds per day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original stainless steel bracelet, a rare and highly desirable inclusion that completes the authentic vintage aesthetic. The bracelet features the correct factory "SEIKO LM" branding deeply stamped into the folding clasp, and the endlinks are properly stamped with the code XGB 221. The bracelet shows moderate surface wear and light desk-diving marks consistent with its age, accommodating a wrist size of up to 18 cm.
Condition
This timepiece is presented in excellent vintage condition. The case has been well cared for, retaining its structural integrity and distinct finishes while displaying only normal, age-appropriate wear. The original bracelet remains secure and functional. The true highlight is the dial, which has survived in stunning condition, exhibiting no visible damage or staining, allowing the vibrant green sunburst finish to remain the focal point of the watch.
