Dial and Hands

The applied Seiko and LM logos remain crisp, while the applied faceted hour markers are clean and reflective. The baton hands feature central white striping and are well-preserved, displaying a clean finish with no visible oxidation or corrosion.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case showcases distinctive angular geometry with brushed top surfaces and polished flanks. The edges remain relatively sharp, presenting a well-preserved profile with honest wear. Light to moderate surface scratches consistent with age are visible on the polished sides and the smooth, integrated bezel. The unsigned crown is partially recessed into the case flank and shows normal wear. The watch is fitted with a distinctive multi-faceted crystal that appears clear, with no major scratches, chips, or cracks visible.
Movement
Powering the watch is the Seiko caliber 5606A, an automatic movement featuring 23 jewels, a quickset day-date mechanism, hacking seconds, and operating at 6 beats per second. The automatic winding rotor is present, and the movement appears generally clean, with some minor surface marks and light tarnishing visible on the rotor and plates. The engravings clearly note the Seiko brand, jewel count, and caliber. On the timegrapher, the watch records +30+35s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black textured leather strap featuring white contrast stitching, which appears to be in lightly used condition.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The dial and hands are exceptionally clean and well-preserved. The angular stainless steel case retains relatively sharp edges with honest wear, displaying light to moderate surface scratches on the polished flanks and bezel area. The multi-faceted crystal is clear and intact. Supported by the timegrapher reading of +30+35s/day, the movement is performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Dimensions
The case measures 36 mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
The vibrant blue gradient dial paired with the distinctive faceted crystal creates a striking visual presence on the wrist. Combined with the sharp, angular stainless steel case geometry characteristic of the Lord Matic line, this is a beautiful and highly wearable example of 1970s Seiko design.
History
The Seiko Lord Matic (LM) series was introduced in the late 1960s as a premium watch line positioned just below the top-tier King Seiko and Grand Seiko collections. Powered by the mechanical automatic caliber 5606, which was produced in both 23-jewel and 25-jewel variants, the Lord Matic line is appreciated today for its distinctive features and striking period-correct aesthetics.
