History
The Omega Seamaster reference 2849 was introduced in 1956. This reference was introduced to house the Caliber 503, an important early full-rotor automatic movement for the brand. Standard production models from this era are appreciated for their balanced proportions and the introduction of snap-on casebacks displaying the Seamaster hippocampus logo.
