Dial and Hands
The gold-tone dial features a striking vertical brushed finish and is exceptionally well-preserved. Characterized as pristine and elegant, the clean surface shows no visible spotting or damage. It is beautifully contrasted by printed black Roman numerals that provide a traditional aesthetic. The matching black stick hands remain clean and highly legible, with their finish appearing entirely intact and free of visible oxidation.
Case and Crystal
The case is highly presentable from the front, while the reverse reveals heavy wear. There is significant plating loss and corrosion on the rear edges and the undersides of the lugs. The integrated smooth bezel and polished case flanks display surface scratches and minor dings consistent with wear. A signed crown, bearing the Longines text and winged hourglass logo, shows some wear to its gold-tone finish. The flat crystal remains clear, with no significant scratches or chips visible to obscure the dial. The stainless steel caseback exterior is stamped with the numbers 18 and 095775.
Movement
Powering the watch is the Longines caliber L 847.4, a 17-jewel manual wind movement. The plates and bridges are generally clean, displaying engravings that include the Longines name, jewel count, caliber, and serial number. Minor surface marks are visible under magnification. The timegrapher records +55+60s/day. Running in operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the watch.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black textured leather strap featuring contrasting yellow stitching. The strap shows light wear and creasing, offering a striking visual pairing for the gold-tone case.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial and hands are beautifully preserved, remaining clean and pristine. The case presents well from the top but is heavily worn on the reverse, with significant plating loss and corrosion visible on the rear edges and lug undersides. The smooth bezel and case flanks display surface scratches and minor dings, and the signed crown shows wear to its finish. The movement is clean with minor surface marks and is currently running in operational condition.
Dimensions
The case measures 33 mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Longines dress watch offers a beautiful, pristine dial that immediately catches the eye. Despite the prominent wear to the reverse of the case, the elegant Roman numerals and vertically brushed finish make it a highly presentable and classic vintage timepiece on the wrist.
