Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is excellently preserved, presenting a clean and striking vintage appearance. Applied block indices with black inserts remain completely intact, complementing the crisp and legible dial printing. A vibrant red date display sits neatly at three o'clock, balancing the signature rotating Rado anchor logo with its red background at twelve o'clock. The original baton hands feature black inserts and display visible age-related oxidation and spotting on their metal surfaces. The sweeping seconds hand shows minor wear, consistent with the age of the timepiece.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel cushion-shaped case features a brushed front surface contrasting with polished flanks. It displays honest wear consistent with age, including moderate scratches and scuffs visible throughout, particularly across the brushed front. The case edges show some softening indicative of wear and possible past polishing. The crown is signed with the Rado anchor logo and exhibits moderate wear to its knurling and polished surface. The caseback is decorated with the classic Rado seahorse medallion. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, showing light surface scratches and scuffs visible under direct lighting. Movement
Inside beats the gold-tone automatic caliber AS 1858, featuring 25 jewels. The rotor is handsomely signed with the Rado name and anchor logo, while the caliber number is clearly stamped under the balance wheel. The movement appears clean with no obvious signs of corrosion or heavy wear. -40-42s/day. Running in operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the watch.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a complementary black leather strap featuring an alligator pattern and white contrast stitching. It appears in very good condition with minimal wear, pairing nicely with the cushion case design.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial is wonderfully preserved, retaining its bright sunburst finish and intact applied markers, while the hands show expected oxidation and spotting. The case exhibits honest wear with moderate scratches and some edge softening from use and possible past polishing. The domed acrylic crystal has light surface marks. The automatic movement is visually clean and running in operational condition.
