    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage This vintage Rado Daymaster features a unique 6 o'clock day window. The classic silver sunburst dial, complete with applied faceted indices and the brand's rotating anchor logo, is powered by a 30-jewel automatic movement. Brand: Rado Model: Daymaster Reference Number: 11753 Movement: 30-jewel automatic Dial: Silver sunburst with 6 o'clock day and 3 o'clock date Case Size: 36mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold-tone, stainless steel caseback Production Year: 1960s Condition: Fair vintage condition. Timegrapher: +20+22s/day, running strong and steady. Dial and Hands The silver sunburst dial is well-preserved with some light spotting and dust particles visible under magnification. Applied faceted gold-tone indices are intact and retain their shape across the dial. The distinctive day window at the 6 o'clock position and the date window at 3 o'clock are clear and legible. Printed text is crisp with no significant print loss, and the dial features the Rado rotating anchor logo. The gold-tone dauphine hands show moderate surface oxidation and spotting consistent with age, while the sweep second hand is intact with minor wear. Case and Crystal The case is heavily worn with substantial plating loss. Significant gold-tone plating loss is visible, especially on the lugs and case edges, revealing the base metal underneath. Scratches, dings, and oxidation are present throughout the case body. No distinct bezel is present, as the crystal is mounted directly to the case. The stainless steel caseback shows moderate scratches and wear, but the engravings remain legible. The gold-tone crown shows heavy wear and plating loss, and any potential signature or logo is worn smooth and cannot be clearly resolved. The domed acrylic crystal shows some light surface scratches and scuffs, with no major cracks, chips, or deep crazing visible. Movement The watch is powered by a 30-jewel automatic movement. The movement appears generally clean with some light surface wear on the rotor and plates, and no severe corrosion, heavy oxidation, or obvious damage is visible. The rotor is engraved with the Rado anchor logo alongside RADO, 30 JEWELS, and SWISS. Recording +20+22s/day on the timegrapher. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. Strap The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring a crocodile grain pattern. The strap shows light wear and creasing from use but remains in good condition. Condition Fair vintage condition. The well-preserved dial shows minor age-related spotting, while the original hands display moderate oxidation. The case exhibits significant gold-tone plating loss, revealing the base metal, along with scratches and dings throughout. The stainless steel caseback has moderate wear with legible engravings, and the domed acrylic crystal shows light surface scratches. The crown is heavily worn. Dimensions The case measures 36mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This 1960s Rado Daymaster is notable for its specific day and date layout, anchored by the distinctive 6 o'clock day display. While the case shows substantial wear and plating loss, the well-preserved sunburst dial and strong movement performance make this a highly characterful vintage timepiece. History The Rado Daymaster reference 11753 is a vintage model produced during the 1960s. It represents the brand's mid-century design language, characterized by creative dial layouts and the signature rotating anchor logo.
