Now available at auction from Second Vintage This Omega De Ville presents a quintessential 1970s design, pairing a distinctive TV-screen case with a sought-after f300 Hz tuning fork chronometer movement. The exceptionally clean, vertically brushed grey dial is immediately distinguished by a striking applied red Omega logo, offering tremendous visual character. Brand: Omega Model: De Ville Movement: Electronic f300 Hz tuning fork chronometer Dial: Grey with vertical brushing, gold-tone indices, and applied red logo Case Size: 35 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold-tone, stainless steel caseback Production Year: 1970s Condition: Good vintage condition. Dial and Hands The dial is exceptionally clean and attractive, featuring a grey, taupe-toned surface with distinctive vertical brushing. Applied gold-tone indices with black inserts complement the gold-tone framed date window at 6 o'clock, but the focal point is the striking applied red Omega logo positioned at 12 o'clock. The surface remains clean with crisp printing and no visible significant flaws. The original gold-tone baton hands feature black inserts and luminous material that displays natural aging. A sweep seconds hand completes the display. Expected age-related oxidation and spotting are visible on the metal surfaces of the hands. Case and Crystal The watch features a distinctive 1970s gold-tone TV-screen shaped case with a stainless steel caseback. The geometry is highlighted by a brushed finish on the upper surface and polished flanks. It displays honest wear, with moderate scratches and scuffs throughout consistent with age and use, alongside some minor dings on the case edges. A gold-tone crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo, shows some wear to the plating on its edges. The flat crystal is clear, providing a distortion-free view of the dial with no major scratches, chips, or cracks visible. Movement Powering this timepiece is Omega's f300 Hz electronic tuning fork chronometer movement. This battery-powered caliber represents a fascinating era of horological innovation, renowned for its distinctive hum and smooth sweeping seconds hand. Strap The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap featuring a crocodile pattern. The strap shows signs of wear, creasing, and use. It is secured by an original gold-tone buckle signed with the Omega logo, which exhibits heavy tarnish, oxidation, and plating wear, reflecting a heavily patinated character. Condition Good vintage condition. The dial is excellently preserved and highly attractive, remaining free of significant flaws. The hands display visible, age-related oxidation and spotting. The distinctive gold-tone case shows honest wear, with moderate scratches, scuffs, and minor dings along the edges, while the plating on the signed crown exhibits some wear. The crystal remains clear and distortion-free. The leather strap and heavily patinated signed buckle show clear signs of use and age. Dimensions Case Size: 35 mm (excluding the crown) Remarks This Omega De Ville stands out with its classic 1970s TV-screen case and striking vertically brushed dial. The presence of the applied red Omega logo and the sought-after tuning fork movement make it a highly appealing collector watch. History During the 1970s, Omega embraced the forefront of timekeeping technology with their electronic f300 Hz tuning fork movements. Licensed from Bulova's Accutron technology and refined for Swiss production, these chronometer-rated calibers offered unprecedented accuracy before quartz dominated the market. The De Ville line, known for its refined aesthetics, provided the perfect canvas for these innovative movements, resulting in distinctive models like this TV-screen case that reflect the bold design language of the era. / Second Vintage SKU: OME-ODV-0063
