Dial and Hands
The dial is a mesmerizing emerald green fumé, radiating from a bright center to deeply shadowed edges. It is adorned with applied, faceted baton indices featuring intricate ribbed detailing that catches the light brilliantly. The applied Seiko and LM logos, along with the Suwa factory symbol at six o'clock, are crisp and prominent. The dial surface itself is remarkably well-preserved, showing a clean, even gradient entirely free of heavy moisture marks, spotting, or surface damage. The baton handset features white central inserts that display authentic, visible aging, darkening, and minor degradation consistent with the era, adding a distinct vintage character to the display. A sharply framed day-date window sits at three o'clock, featuring a Kanji and English day wheel.
Case and Crystal
The 36mm stainless steel cushion case exemplifies classic 1970s architecture. The sweeping polished flanks and integrated lug profile retain their fundamental geometry, exhibiting honest surface scratches, scuffs, and minor handling marks commensurate with decades of normal wear. The crown is neatly positioned at three o'clock, sitting flush with the case lines. The watch is fitted with a spectacular faceted crystal, cut with flat geometric planes that cast dynamic shadows and optical reflections across the green dial. The crystal remains highly transparent and clear, presenting only minor micro-scuffs along the outer facet edges upon close inspection.
Movement
Housed beneath the screw-down stainless steel caseback is the Seiko automatic caliber 5606A, featuring 25 jewels. Visual inspection reveals a bright, exceptionally clean movement with crisp factory engravings on the rotor and bridges, showing no visible signs of heavy oxidation or rotor rub. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher results indicate a performance of -15 to -19 seconds per day.
Strap
The timepiece is paired with a period correct black leather strap featuring a heavy grain texture and striking white contrast stitching, secured by a traditional stainless steel tang buckle.
Condition
This timepiece is presented in excellent vintage condition. The dial remains a pristine standout feature with its vibrant green gradient, while the hands show authentic and visible age-related darkening. The stainless steel case displays normal vintage wear with moderate surface scratches but no major structural damage or deep gouges. The faceted crystal is well-preserved, and the movement presents beautifully.
