    Om denna klocka

Now available at auction from Second Vintage A distinctive and sought-after Rado Matterhorn from the 1970s, this timepiece is defined by its striking vertically brushed silver dial and robust cushion case geometry. Fitted with its original signed mesh bracelet and featuring the brand's signature rotating anchor logo, it presents a highly charismatic example of Rado's mid-century design language. Brand: Rado Model: Matterhorn Reference Number: 70015747 Movement: Automatic, Caliber 900, 25 Jewels Dial: Silver tone with vertical brushed stripes and red date numerals Case Size: 37 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: 1970s Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: -15-17s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The dial is striking and exceptionally well-preserved, featuring a silver tone with vertical brushed stripes that create a dynamic two-tone effect under varying light. Applied indices with black accents provide excellent legibility, complemented by vibrant red date numerals positioned at 3 o'clock. The signature rotating Rado anchor logo sits proudly below the 12 o'clock marker. The dial remains in clean condition with no major flaws, spotting, or damage visible. The matching baton hands feature black central stripes and are paired with a sweep second hand. Minor dust and very light oxidation on the hands are visible only under macro magnification, remaining well-preserved and cohesive with the dial. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case features a distinctive cushion shape with a polished finish, exhibiting honest wear with preserved geometry. Light scratches and handling marks consistent with age are present across the surfaces, though the case remains free of any major dents or deep gouges. The crown is signed with the Rado anchor logo and retains good definition on both its knurling and the emblem. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, showing light surface scratches and scuffs visible in reflections. Movement Inside is the automatic Caliber 900, a 25-jewel Swiss movement. The movement features gold-tone plates and a matching rotor. Visually, the base plates appear relatively clean, while the rotor exhibits heavy oxidation, spotting, and patina. The timegrapher records a rate of -15-17s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel mesh bracelet, which is period correct and matching. A signed Rado clasp is visible on the inner folding section. The bracelet shows normal wear with no major deformation, offering a comfortable fit for a maximum wrist size of up to 21 cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The case retains its structural integrity with age-related light scratches and handling marks. The striking brushed dial is exceptionally clean, while the hands show only minor dust and light oxidation under magnification. The domed acrylic crystal displays light surface scuffs. The original mesh bracelet remains in solid shape with normal wear. The movement rotor shows heavy oxidation and spotting, though the base plates remain cleaner in comparison. Supported by the recorded timegrapher data, the automatic movement is performing remarkably well. Dimensions Case Size: 37 mm (excluding the crown) Remarks This Matterhorn offers a compelling combination of character and originality. The dynamic two-tone visual effect of the brushed dial, paired with the distinctive cushion case and original signed mesh bracelet, makes this a highly attractive acquisition for enthusiasts of 1970s design. History Rado established a strong reputation in the mid-twentieth century for producing visually daring and structurally innovative timepieces. The Matterhorn is a less common model from the 1970s, highly sought-after by collectors for its unique dial finishing and chunky cushion case profile. During this era, Rado frequently utilized robust Swiss automatic calibers, consistently pairing reliable mechanical performance with their signature rotating anchor logos and expressive, unconventional case geometries.
